Spotlight: Frontier

We are so excited to introduce Frontier to you this month! Frontier offers a vast variety of conservation and development projects across the world. Check out their website to see how you can get involved or support Frontier!

How Did It Begin?

Frontier began in 1989 with five years of ground-breaking environmental and socioeconomic surveys that lead to the first multi-user marine park to be created in a developing country. The result was Mafia Island Marine Park in Tanzania which continues to embody Frontier’s ethos of working alongside local communities to produce beneficial and long-term conservation effects. Frontier has since evolved as an international non-profit conservation and community development NGO with over 300 projects in 50 countries.

What Makes Frontier Stand Out?

What makes Frontier stand out is its determination to work towards producing long-term solutions that reduce human-animal conflict. By working to empower local communities and provide environmental education Frontier aims to ensure conservation is sustainable and valuable to local people. Because of this, volunteers are able to be involved in ground-breaking schemes and know that their contribution goes towards reaching an effective, long-term goal.
