About IFRE
Institute for Field Research Expeditions (IFRE), a 501 (C) 3 under IRS code, is a non profit organization. Our parent company is registered as Global Future Institute (GFI) in Louisiana . However, due to a name conflict, we are registered with the state of Texas as the Institute for Field Research Expeditions (IFRE). The main goal of IFRE is to carry out authentic field research programs on ecology, environment, wildlife, archeology and other areas affecting global communities.

The secondary objective of IFRE is to offer affordable and high quality volunteer abroad and internship abroad programs. In collaboration with local organizations, IFRE presently offers volunteer abroad programs in Nepal , India , Sri Lanka , China , Thailand , Peru , Costa Rica , Ghana , Kenya , South Africa and Tanzania . Our volunteer abroad programs are focused on working in orphanages, teaching English, health projects and conservation efforts.

IFRE History
IFRE was started in 2005 after realizing the need for volunteers' help in developing countries. Affordability and quality are two core components of IFRE's volunteer abroad programs. Before starting our programs, we had visited many developing countries where we developed many relationships with local orphanages, schools, NGO, governments and local people.

Presently, IFRE runs its volunteer program in Nepal , India , Sri Lanka , China , Thailand , Peru , Costa Rica , Ghana , Kenya , South Africa and Tanzania . We are in a process to expand our program to many other developing countries where the help of volunteers are greatly needed. In 2006, we sent 226 volunteers abroad! Many volunteers are planning a trip with IFRE up through spring of 2008.
